The Straight-Talk Express Takes The Offramp from the High Road(Again)
Yesterday while on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Senator McCain showed his true colors when he stated that a vote for Obama means the terrorists win due to Hamas’s statement that the group would prefer Obama to McCain:
“It’s indicative of how some of our enemies view America, And I guarantee you, they’re not going to endorse me.”
Of course, Jon Stewart pointed out the obvious. We really shouldn’t take Hamas at their word and that George W. Bush has served as an excellent rallying point for the recruitment efforts of various terrorist organizations. McCain however shirked from answering questions that were too tough. When Jon asked McCain about the fact that more Americans are worried about McCain’s relationship with Bush than are worried about Obama’s relationship with Wright, McCain simply pretended to walk off before jokingly mouthing that he had technical difficulties.
McCain shows yet again why the myth of the moral Republican maverick needs to be shown to be the lie that it really is.
